Loy Kratong 2010

Went for dinner with Mom, Aunt Doris and her family. After dinner, is Loy Kratong time.... The loy kratong place was really crowded, it's normal because its a festival. This festival, there's another name for it in Thai, which is directly translated as the "Lose virgin" day. This is because Loy Kratong is normally done at night, and usually done with your other half. It's a popular in Thailand for couple to go Loy Kratong together on this day.... But it's sad that she's not here with me today.... Maybe someday, we'd be doing this together.

This is a Kratong, our Kratong. Where I made a wish that we'd be beside each other real soon. For good.
Purchased this floating lantern or Kom Loy for 60 Baht. I should have brought the one at home along. But think on the bright side, that I'd be able to put more when we're on December trip. 10 floating lanterns!!! Going up!!!  I made the same wish for the floating lantern too... although I release it with my mom.... Oh, and of course, I wished my family, her and her family great health and peace in the family too... for both Kratong and the floating lantern. Oh Btw, my lantern is the white one. It flew really fast and really high.
It's the 1st time I had seen so many floating lantern flying together in the sky. It felt like stars in the sky. I even had a chance to release my own star into the sky. Really wished she would be here to see it. This is the best I can do with my BB camera. Manged to capture about 9. There's about 70-80 more that's too far away for the camera to see.
The river filled with Kratong. Same case for the Kratong, there's a 100 more which can't be seen with my camera. Hope she'll be here for next year's Loy Kratong.
2nd attempt, which is not any better than the 1st 1.
It's a decoration they put up for Loy Kratong. This decoration is put up every year. Not exactly the best looking decoration, but it looked great on camera without flash on.
There were 2 of them side by side.

It's quite fun to do the Loy Kratong, I could only imagine the extra fun we'll have if we're to do this together just like other Thai couples who were there. Having done it with family members is fun, but not as much fun. Hope we'll be making the same wish like we had done before. Wondering if my Loy Kratong wish were the same as her Birthday's wish.
