Still on confident......
Studies example....
From previous, I concluded that confidence can be attained by 3 things, which are praises, statistics, and experiences.
In studies, a student's previous grades not only determine how good the student is in studying, but it would also act as a motivation, and also gave them confidence in their performance to do well in their next exam. For example, a straight A's student would be confident that he would do well in the next exam too because he had all the straight A's as proof that he can do well. Which goes to proof that his studies method works. He also knows that a straight A's report card is attainable within his ability. He would go into the exam more confident than a student who do not have straight A's. On the other hand, a student who is always on the borderline would be less confident that he will do well for the exam. His studies method may or may not work. His grades fluctuates too much for him to be confident that he wouldn't be confident that he can do well in the exam. This is the case of statistics.
A student, no matter how much confident one has, would always feel better and more confident with praises. A straight A's student who had been praise would feel more assured of his ability when praised. Overly confident however can result in cockiness. A student with inferior confidence can be more confident if they are praised. It allows them to work harder and gain confident due to hardwork, which is more of experience factor. For example, if a student moderately pass, if he improved, praise. If the whole class did badly because it's a difficult paper, praise. Praise can raise confidence of everyone. If people know that you do praise, they would work hard to get your praise. However praising should be done considerably and moderately, especially if you have more than one person to praise. Consider the situation and praise accordingly. For example, if you have a twins studying in the same school same class, one did exceptionally well, the other did poorly. If you overly praised the one who did poorly, the better twin may not try as hard the next time round. Also, should you praise only the better twin, you may build an inferiority feel in the weaker twin. This applies to workforce, and a classroom also. Praising have a higher impact to the one being praise when done in front of a large crowd, but at the same time, it brings a sense of inferiority and envy to those who did poorly in the area you are praising.
Next to experience. Experiences varies from people to people. A group of people going into the same class may have a different experience coming out of the class. This is because interactions is different to each individual throughout a class. Not to mention, a different experiences outside of the class too. If 2 students, A and B have the same grade. A student who went to tuition after class may have more confident than B student who don't attend tuition. This is because A had done more practice. However should both of them had the same tuition, if B cheated in test, he's more confident that he'll do well. If A knew a few people from the senior classes who had taken the subject before while B don't, and the seniors told A about the questions that they had taken in the exam, A would be more confident as he would be more prepared for the exam style, or even practiced on an actual exam question itself. Other examples of experience may include parent's style of upbringing, the hobby they have, past exam papers, personal interactions with teachers that others do not have. etc.
