1st we had breakfast. Our last meal in Pattaya and also at Jameson's pub and restaurant. They make really great breakfast. But somehow, their breakfast didn't taste as good as the previous day. The menu are the same, but somehow, it just didn't taste the same as the previous day. Maybe it was our feeling on the day, as we feel sad to leave the place, hence the change in taste buds. But overall, we were very satisfied with Nova Gold and Jameson's. I just noticed that the paper that's on the counter is F.O.C. when I decided to buy the Sunday paper. I should have taken them everyday. Really pleased with Nova Gold. I'd stay here again if I were to come back to Pattaya. I would definitely go back to Nova Gold.
Then we left Nova gold to claim my free Macdonald's Breakfast, bought some Guava for her, and then we're on our way towards Koh Chang. Bought a map on the way because not very sure of the road. Managed to find the road and then we reached the jetty to Koh Chang at about 12 noon. Very early.
We then took the 12.30 boat to reach Koh Chang at about 1pm. Which then I made a huge mistake by turning the wrong direction when I came out of the Jetty. Seeing the map I took from the ferry, and the account charged to her credit cards, I was determined to go to Salakphet Seafood and resort, thinking that the resort would be closed by. Ended up finding out that The Tropical Beach Resort is nowhere near the Salakphet Seafood and Resort. They were in 2 opposite end of the island.
The Salakphet is at the Ban Salak Phet on the east side of the island road, near the center, towards the south, while our Tropical Beach resort is nearby Ban Bang Bao towards the west side of the island. We had to retrace our route back and travel to the other side of the island. Why don't they just make a connected road to join both sides? I really wonder. The staff suggested us to eat at the restaurant before making our way to the other side which would take us about 1.5 hours. We readily agreed and glad we stayed to eat. The restaurant have some great food. We were impressed by the restaurant's food. Although from the look at their car park, one might find that the restaurant was a little out of place and doesn't impress, but once one step into the restaurant and see the restaurant and the resort, it's like a whole different dimension. The resort was impressive and really beautiful. The food was great too. We ordered a Kailan fried in Salted fish, Scallop in Thai Chili Paste and a Fish steamed in Spicy Lemon Sauce. They tasted great!!! They even provided us with a free pineapple desert after meal.
Found out that both resorts are owned by the same owner, they even offered us to stay at Salakphet for a 1 night before moving out to Tropical Beach. I rejected the offer because having thin facial skin and being wanting to see the Tropical Beach Resort. How bad could it be if this resort is this great, their other resort would be just as great if not better. That's what I thought and that's when I was proven wrong.
We took our path towards the Tropical Beach resorts. Traced back our route towards the jetty and then to our surprise, big hills, huge slopes and sharp bends with no railings beside the road. The road on the other side of the island is a roller coaster ride. After roller coasters and roller coasters of rides, we finally saw a tropical Beach resort sign written on a puny size sign board with terrible handwriting. Which got us really excited, but comparing them to signs of other hotels, ours are really bad and terrible. We were utterly shocked when we have to go offroad to reach the hotel. The hotel was litterally the furthest one on the west side of the island. We deduced that the owner likes corner places, just as Salakphet Seafood and Resort is, Tropical Beach is on the other end.
We were welcomed with a free coconut. Great start. The beach looks great, although the road to here was bad. But then when we went into the room, She immediately felt the room to be not a good shape. Her sixth sense is telling her bad things. She could star in the spider woman show with her spider sense. Soon enough, we could hear the lizards making sex call at evening time. There were millipedes in the bathroom too. I think I caught about 20 of them throughout the stay. 1 beetle flew into the room and many many ants. She's one who can't stand the sight of bugs as it makes her itch. She immediately wanted to leave the hotel immediately after stepping into the room for 10 minutes. I assure her that everything will be alright. She's not convinced. She started using my Blackberry to look for hotels nearby.
We went out to have dinner at the hotel "lobby". She found that there's free Wifi. She was thrilled and soon she was willing to stay for the night. But only for 1 night.
Soon that night, we went out to see stars and play a bit of fireworks. She wasn't in the greatest of mood due to the disappointment of the hotel. But she was soon having fun with the fireworks. It ended with me shooting a firework at her by accident. She was pissed, not sure if she was hurt. So everything ended after the accident. I was scolded.
Didn't feel great after being scolded, and soon we go to sleep after going back to the room to bathe.
